Amazon Seller Central setup guide
Selling on Amazon through the Selling Partner API. Agents search and read orders, confirm merchant-fulfilled shipments with tracking, check listings and FBA stock, update prices and merchant-fulfilled quantities, message buyers about their orders and send review requests.
Agents look after orders, products and customers in your store.
Ways to connect
Company admins connect apps, on the Integrations page in Everdeck: open Amazon Seller Central, choose one of the ways below, follow its steps and fill in its fields. Everdeck checks what you enter before it saves anything, and asks you to confirm it’s you (your second factor) before you type any secret. How connecting works.
Your private Selling Partner API app (self-authorized)
Your OAuth app.
This way uses the client ID and secret of an OAuth app you create for Amazon Seller Central. There’s no sign-in page: Everdeck asks Amazon Seller Central for a token with them.
- Sign in to Seller Central as the account's Primary User and open Apps and Services > Develop Apps (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/sellingpartner/developerconsole). If you have no developer profile yet, register as a private developer for your own business; Amazon reviews the profile before you can create apps.
- Add a new app client of type SP API and select the roles Inventory and Order Tracking, Product Listing, Amazon Fulfillment, Buyer Communication, Buyer Solicitation and Selling Partner Insights. For buyer names and delivery addresses on merchant-fulfilled orders also request Direct-to-Consumer Shipping (restricted roles need an extra Amazon review).
- Open the app's LWA credentials and copy the Client identifier and Client secret into the form.
- Click Authorize app (the app can stay in draft) and copy the refresh token into the form.
- Pick the selling region, enter the marketplace ID (for example ATVPDKIKX0DER for amazon.com) and your Merchant Token as Seller ID.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Selling region (where the marketplace's API lives) (optional) | Choice: North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil), Europe, Middle East and India (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, AE, IN and more), Far East (Japan, Australia, Singapore). Starts as na. |
| Marketplace ID | Text. For example ATVPDKIKX0DER. Where to find it. |
| Seller ID (Merchant Token, in Seller Central under Settings > Account Info) | Text. For example A1B2C3D4E5F6G7. |
| Refresh token (starts with Atzr|) | A secret: Everdeck saves it encrypted and never shows it again. |
Disconnecting deletes the access token Everdeck saved for this connection. The OAuth app's client ID and secret stay saved under OAuth apps in Everdeck and keep working at Amazon Seller Central until you delete the app or rotate its secret there.
What agents can do
An agent uses an action only when its charter grants it, on the agent’s Tools tab, where you choose whether each one runs by itself (Auto), asks first or never runs. Each action has a risk tier: tier 3 actions, which customers or the public see, ask first unless you choose otherwise, and tier 4 actions (money, deleting things, access) always need a person. How tools and tiers work.
Actions marked Reads outside content return things people outside your company may have written. Agents treat what they read as information, never as instructions, and their riskier actions later in the same session need approval.
-
Search ordersTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_search_ordersList orders created or updated since a time, optionally by fulfillment status or channel. Returns order id, dates, fulfillment status and channel, total and items. Give exactly one of created_after or updated_after. Amazon allows about one call every 3 minutes on average (burst 20), so prefer get_order when the order id is known.
-
Read an orderTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_get_orderRead one order with items (order item ids, SKU, ASIN, quantity, price), fulfillment status and ship-by and deliver-by windows, totals, cancellation details and packages with carrier and tracking number.
-
Confirm a shipment with trackingTier 3 · ExternalReads outside content
amazon_seller_confirm_shipmentConfirm that items of a merchant-fulfilled order shipped, with carrier and tracking number. Amazon then shows the tracking to the buyer. Use order item ids from get_order.
-
Search your listingsTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_search_listingsList your listings in the marketplace, newest changes first, or look up specific SKUs or ASINs. Returns SKU, ASIN, title, status, condition, price and fulfillment quantity, plus listing issues.
-
Read a listingTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_get_listingRead one of your listings by SKU: summary, offer price, fulfillment quantity, issues and, if asked for, its full attributes and product type (needed before changing anything else on it).
-
Change a listing's priceTier 4 · Money or irreversibleReads outside content
amazon_seller_update_listing_priceSet the selling price (tax-inclusive where the marketplace shows prices with tax) of one of your listings. Amazon accepts the change asynchronously; check issues in the response.
-
Set a merchant-fulfilled quantityTier 2 · ReversibleReads outside content
amazon_seller_update_listing_quantitySet the quantity available for a merchant-fulfilled (not FBA) listing; handling time and restock date stay as they are. FBA stock is managed by Amazon's warehouses and can't be set here.
-
Check FBA stockTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_get_fba_inventoryRead Fulfillment by Amazon stock for up to 50 SKUs (or all SKUs, page by page): fulfillable, inbound, reserved and unfulfillable quantities.
-
Search the Amazon catalogTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_search_catalogSearch Amazon's catalog by keywords or by product identifiers (ASIN, EAN, UPC and others) to find ASINs, titles, brands and sales ranks.
-
See which messages can be sent for an orderTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
amazon_seller_list_message_actionsList the buyer message types Amazon currently allows for an order (they depend on the order's status, fulfillment and region). Check this before message_buyer.
-
Message the buyer about an orderTier 3 · ExternalReads outside content
amazon_seller_message_buyerSend the buyer one of Amazon's permitted order messages: confirmOrderDetails (a question about the order before it ships), confirmDeliveryDetails (arrange delivery or confirm contact details) or unexpectedProblem (a problem that affects completing the order). Plain text up to 2,000 characters in the buyer's language; no HTML, email addresses or unrelated links.
-
Request a review and seller feedbackTier 3 · ExternalReads outside content
amazon_seller_request_reviewSend Amazon's standard request for a product review and seller feedback for a delivered order. Amazon allows one such request (or one free-form proactive message) per order, only while the order is eligible; otherwise Amazon rejects the call.
What can start work
These events from Amazon Seller Central can become tasks for your agents through Intake. How Intake works.
An order was created or changed (new order, shipped, cancelled and so on).
Connect Amazon Seller Central first. Then, on the Intake page, open Webhooks and sources, find it under Connector triggers and select Start watching. Then, on the Rules tab, select New rule to say which requests become tasks and who gets them.
Testing, problems and disconnecting
Everdeck checks the connection when you save it. On the connection’s page in Integrations, Test checks it again at any time.
If Amazon Seller Central later refuses the connection, for example because a key was deleted or a sign-in expired, the connection shows Needs attention on the Integrations page and the people who manage connections are told. Agents can’t use it until a company admin fixes it with Edit.
To stop agents using Amazon Seller Central, open the connection and select Disconnect. Agents stop using it at once and its saved credentials are deleted. What else happens depends on how it was connected: each way above says.
