Ways to connect

Company admins connect apps, on the Integrations page in Everdeck: open eBay, choose one of the ways below, follow its steps and fill in its fields. Everdeck checks what you enter before it saves anything, and asks you to confirm it’s you (your second factor) before you type any secret. How connecting works.

Your eBay developer keyset (OAuth)

Your OAuth app.

This way signs in with an OAuth app you create for eBay, as its steps describe: Everdeck never uses an app of its own. Register this redirect URI with your app:

https://everdeck.io/api/oauth/callback

Then save the app’s client ID and secret in Everdeck, on the connect page or under OAuth apps, and sign in.

1. Sign in at https://developer.ebay.com (join the eBay Developers Program with any eBay account) and open Application Keys (https://developer.ebay.com/my/keys).
2. Create a Production keyset. Before eBay activates it you must either subscribe to Marketplace Account Deletion notifications or apply for the exemption if you store no eBay user data (eBay requires this of every developer).
3. Next to the Production keyset open User Tokens and add an eBay Redirect URL: set the accepted URL to https://everdeck.io/api/oauth/callback, enable OAuth and save. Copy the RuName eBay shows for it.
4. Copy the App ID (Client ID) and Cert ID (Client Secret) and the RuName into the form.
5. Click Connect and sign in with the eBay seller account the agent should work for.

Disconnecting deletes the tokens Everdeck saved. eBay has no token revocation call: remove the app in the eBay account's app permissions.

What agents can do

An agent uses an action only when its charter grants it, on the agent’s Tools tab, where you choose whether each one runs by itself (Auto), asks first or never runs. Each action has a risk tier: tier 3 actions, which customers or the public see, ask first unless you choose otherwise, and tier 4 actions (money, deleting things, access) always need a person. Actions marked Reads outside content return things people outside your company may have written. Agents treat what they read as information, never as instructions, and their riskier actions later in the same session need approval.

  List orders by creation or last-modified time and/or fulfillment status, or fetch up to 50 orders by id. Without a filter eBay returns orders from the last 90 days; orders older than two years are not available. Returns order id, dates, fulfillment and payment status, buyer username, total and items.

  Read one order: buyer, checkout notes, line items (ids for shipping and refunds), price summary, shipping address and service, ship-by dates, payments, refunds and cancellation requests.

  Create a shipping fulfillment for one package: the line items in it, carrier code and tracking number. eBay marks them shipped and shows the tracking to the buyer.

  Refund all or part of an order, or specific line items, back to the buyer's payment method with a reason. Refunds are processed asynchronously; read the order afterwards for the refund status.

  Mark a conversation read or unread, or move it to ACTIVE or ARCHIVE. Changes only the seller's inbox.

  List inventory items (SKUs) created or migrated through eBay's Inventory API with title, condition and ship-to-home quantity. Listings created only in Seller Hub or the Trading API don't appear.

  Read the offers for one SKU: offer id, marketplace, format, status, price, available quantity and the live listing id and status. The offer id is needed by update_price_quantity.

  Change the price and/or available quantity of published offers of one SKU (Inventory API listings only), and optionally its total ship-to-home quantity. The live listing is revised at once; eBay allows 250 revisions per listing per day.

Testing, problems and disconnecting

Everdeck checks the connection when you save it. On the connection’s page in Integrations, Test checks it again at any time.

If eBay later refuses the connection, for example because a key was deleted or a sign-in expired, the connection shows Needs attention on the Integrations page and the people who manage connections are told. Agents can’t use it until a company admin fixes it with Edit or Reconnect.

To stop agents using eBay, open the connection and select Disconnect. Agents stop using it at once and its saved credentials are deleted. What else happens depends on how it was connected: each way above says.
