Marketing & forms
Typeform setup guide
Forms and surveys. Agents list forms and their questions, read and search responses for follow-up or analysis, create new forms as private drafts, publish or unpublish them, and delete a respondent's answers on request.
Agents work with your audiences, campaigns and forms.
Ways to connect
Company admins connect apps, on the Integrations page in Everdeck: open Typeform, choose one of the ways below, follow its steps and fill in its fields. Everdeck checks what you enter before it saves anything, and asks you to confirm it’s you (your second factor) before you type any secret. How connecting works.
Typeform can be connected 2 ways. Where there’s a key or token to paste, that’s usually the quickest.
Personal access token
API key.
- Log in to Typeform, open the menu next to your username and click Account, then Personal tokens in the left menu (https://admin.typeform.com/user/tokens).
- Click Generate a new token, name it "Everdeck" and choose the scopes listed below.
- Click Generate token, copy it and paste it here.
- Keep the US data center unless your Enterprise account stores responses in the EU (ask your Typeform Customer Success Manager if unsure).
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Data center (optional) | Choice: US (default), EU Responses Data Center (api.eu.typeform.com), New EU data center (typeform.eu). Starts as https://api.typeform.com. |
| Personal access token | A secret: Everdeck saves it encrypted and never shows it again. Where to find it. |
The scopes Everdeck asks for:
accounts:readforms:readforms:writeresponses:readresponses:writeworkspaces:readwebhooks:readwebhooks:write
Disconnecting deletes the credentials Everdeck saved, but Everdeck can't revoke them: the key, token or password itself keeps working at Typeform until you delete or rotate it there.
Your Typeform app
Your OAuth app.
This way signs in with an OAuth app you create for Typeform, as its steps describe: Everdeck never uses an app of its own. Register this redirect URI with your app:
https://everdeck.io/api/oauth/callback
Then save the app’s client ID and secret in Everdeck, on the connect page or under OAuth apps, and sign in.
- In Typeform, open the menu next to your organization name and click Developer Apps (under Organization), then Register a new app.
- Enter an app name and your website, set the Redirect URI to https://everdeck.io/api/oauth/callback, and click Register app.
- Copy the client_secret right away (it is shown once) and the client_id into the form.
- Click Connect and approve the scopes listed below.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Where your account signs in (optional) | Choice: US or EU Responses Data Center, New EU data center (typeform.eu). Starts as https://api.typeform.com. |
| Data center (optional) | Choice: US (default), EU Responses Data Center (api.eu.typeform.com), New EU data center (typeform.eu). Starts as https://api.typeform.com. |
The scopes Everdeck asks for:
offlineaccounts:readforms:readforms:writeresponses:readresponses:writeworkspaces:readwebhooks:readwebhooks:write
Disconnecting deletes the tokens Everdeck saved. Typeform documents no revocation endpoint: revoke the access in Typeform.
What agents can do
An agent uses an action only when its charter grants it, on the agent’s Tools tab, where you choose whether each one runs by itself (Auto), asks first or never runs. Each action has a risk tier: tier 3 actions, which customers or the public see, ask first unless you choose otherwise, and tier 4 actions (money, deleting things, access) always need a person. How tools and tiers work.
Actions marked Reads outside content return things people outside your company may have written. Agents treat what they read as information, never as instructions, and their riskier actions later in the same session need approval.
-
List formsTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
typeform_list_formsList forms, most recently updated first, with title, whether they are public and their share link. Search by title or limit to a workspace.
-
Read a formTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
typeform_get_formRead a form's questions (field ids, refs, titles, types and answer choices), hidden fields, settings and share link. Use the field ids to read answers and to filter responses.
-
List responsesTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
typeform_list_responsesRead submitted responses, newest first, with every answer, hidden fields and score. Filter by date, by a phrase in the answers, or page back with before. Responses from roughly the last 30 minutes may not be included yet.
-
Search responsesTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
typeform_search_responsesFind responses with combined conditions on answers, hidden fields, tags, metadata, response ids and submission time, for example everyone who rated below 7 last month.
-
Create a formTier 2 · ReversibleReads outside content
typeform_create_formCreate a new form or survey from a list of questions. It is created private (not accepting responses) so a person can review it; publish it with set_form_public.
-
Publish or unpublish a formTier 3 · ExternalReads outside content
typeform_set_form_publicMake a form public so anyone with its link can respond, or private to stop collecting responses.
-
Delete responsesTier 4 · Money or irreversibleReads outside content
typeform_delete_responsesPermanently delete specific responses, for example when a respondent asks for their data to be erased. Deletion happens shortly after the request is accepted and cannot be undone.
-
List workspacesTier 0 · ReadReads outside content
typeform_list_workspacesList the workspaces you can access, with their ids, names and how many forms each holds.
Testing, problems and disconnecting
Everdeck checks the connection when you save it. On the connection’s page in Integrations, Test checks it again at any time.
If Typeform later refuses the connection, for example because a key was deleted or a sign-in expired, the connection shows Needs attention on the Integrations page and the people who manage connections are told. Agents can’t use it until a company admin fixes it with Edit or Reconnect.
To stop agents using Typeform, open the connection and select Disconnect. Agents stop using it at once and its saved credentials are deleted. What else happens depends on how it was connected: each way above says.
