Ways to connect

A company admin connects Deel from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.

  • Organization API token API key

Copy a key or token from Deel and paste it into Everdeck.

  • Your Deel organization app Your OAuth app

Create an OAuth app of your own with Deel, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Deel and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.

What agents can do with Deel

An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.

Runs on its own 10

Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.

  • List or find people Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List people in the organization (employees, EOR workers, contractors) with job title, department, country, manager, start date, hiring status and their contracts. Search by name or filter by hiring type or status.

  • Read a person Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Read one person's profile: personal and employment details, department, manager, direct reports, status and contracts. Use the id from list_people.

  • List contracts Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List contracts (contractor, EOR, global payroll and direct employee) with title, type, status, worker, team and signature state. Filter by status, type, country or a name search.

  • Read a contract Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Read one contract in full: status, worker, job title, start and end dates, compensation, notice period, work schedule, scope of work and signatures.

  • List time off requests Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the organization's time off requests with dates, amount and unit, type and policy, status (REQUESTED, APPROVED, REJECTED, USED, CANCELED), reason and the person's hris_profile_id (recipient_profile). Filter by status, dates or when they changed.

  • Check time off balances Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Show a person's entitlement, used, requested, approved and available time off for each active policy in the current tracking period. policy.id is what create_time_off_request takes.

  • Request time off for a person Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content

File a time off request on a person's behalf. It is created as REQUESTED (never pre-approved) and, by default, goes through the approval flow configured in Deel. Some policies need a description.

  • List departments Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the organization's departments with their ids and parent departments.

  • Assign a person to a department Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content

Put a person in a department, optionally from an effective date. By default the department is added to their existing positions; set replace_other_positions to true to move them out of all other departments instead.

  • List contractor timesheets Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List timesheets submitted on time-based contractor contracts with hours, amount, currency, status (pending, approved, declined, not_payable, paid, processing), contract and who reported them. Filter by contract, status or submission date.

Asks first 1

Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.

  • Approve or reject time off Tier 3 · External Outside content

Approve or reject REQUESTED time off requests (one or many). Rejection is final and cannot be undone through the API. The response lists which were reviewed and why others were not.

Always asks a person 1

Payments, deletions, permission changes and anything that can't be undone. A person approves every use, and no charter or approval rule can switch that off.

  • Approve or reject a timesheet Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content

Approve or decline a pending contractor timesheet. Approved hours are queued for the contractor's next payment cycle and paid; an approved timesheet can no longer be changed.

Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.

What can start work

Nothing in Deel starts agent work by itself. Agents use it while they work on tasks from the board, from other agents or from the sources on the Intake page.

Work an agent can take on

Examples for apps in HR & recruiting. What an agent does with Deel depends on the actions you grant it.

  • List who is out this week, and what time off is waiting for a decision.
  • Prepare a new hire's record from their details for a person to check.
