Ways to connect
A company admin connects Web search (Brave Search API) from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.

What agents can do with Web search (Brave Search API)
An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.

Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.

Search the web. Returns ranked pages (title, URL, snippet, age) plus news, discussions, FAQs and an infobox when relevant. The query supports operators: "exact phrase", -word, site:example.com, filetype:pdf. Ask for the next page only when more_results_available is true.

Find recent news articles. Returns title, URL, snippet, source site and publication time. Use freshness pd for the past day or pw for the past week.

Find images. Returns each image's title, the page it appears on, the original image URL, its size and a thumbnail. Check the source page's licence before reusing an image.

Find videos. Returns title, URL, description, age, duration, creator and publisher.

Find businesses and points of interest near a place: name, address, phone, website, rating, opening hours, categories and distance. Give a location ("san francisco ca united states", "tokyo japan") or latitude and longitude, and set country for searches outside the US; without a location, results are drawn from everywhere and are less precise.

Search and read top pages Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Search the web and get text extracted from the most relevant pages, ready to quote and cite: for each source its URL, title and the passages that match the query. Use this for research questions instead of searching and then opening each page.
Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.
