Ways to connect

A company admin connects Calendly from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.

  • Personal access token API key

Copy a key or token from Calendly and paste it into Everdeck.

  • Your Calendly OAuth app Your OAuth app

Create an OAuth app of your own with Calendly, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Calendly and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.

What agents can do with Calendly

An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.

Runs on its own 8

Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.

  • List event types Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List your active event types (meeting kinds such as "30-minute demo") with their URI, duration, booking page URL, meeting locations and booking questions. Use the URI with the other tools, and the questions' exact text and position when booking.

  • Find open times Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the start times still open for booking on an event type between two times (at most 31 days apart, starting now or later).

  • Check busy times Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List your Calendly meetings and connected-calendar events that block time between two times, at most 7 days apart.

  • Find meetings Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List your booked meetings, optionally between two start times, by status, or with one invitee's email. For upcoming meetings pass min_start_time as now and sort start_time:asc.

  • Read a meeting Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Read one booked meeting with its location, hosts, guests, notes and cancellation details.

  • List a meeting's invitees Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List who booked a meeting, with their email, time zone, answers to booking questions, cancel and reschedule links, and no-show status.

  • Create a single-use booking link Tier 2 · Reversible

Create a booking link for one event type that can be used for exactly one booking. Nobody is contacted; send the link yourself, for example by email.

  • Mark an invitee as a no-show Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content

Record that an invitee did not attend the meeting. Only you and your team see this mark, and it can be removed later.

Asks first 1

Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.

  • Book a meeting Tier 3 · External Outside content

Book a meeting for an invitee at an open time from get_available_times. Calendly sends the invitee the usual confirmation email and calendar invitation. Requires a paid Calendly plan.

Always asks a person 1

Payments, deletions, permission changes and anything that can't be undone. A person approves every use, and no charter or approval rule can switch that off.

  • Cancel a meeting Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content

Cancel a booked meeting for everyone on it. Invitees are told it was cancelled, with your reason. This cannot be undone; to move a meeting instead, send the invitee its reschedule_url.

Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.

What can start work

Nothing in Calendly starts agent work by itself. Agents use it while they work on tasks from the board, from other agents or from the sources on the Intake page.

Work an agent can take on

Examples for apps in Calendar & scheduling. What an agent does with Calendly depends on the actions you grant it.

  • Find open times and suggest meeting slots to someone who asked for a call.
  • Read tomorrow's meetings and write a short brief for each one.
