Ways to connect
A company admin connects Outlook Calendar from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.
Every way in uses an app you create with Outlook Calendar, so access stays under your control. The setup guide walks you through it.

Your Microsoft Entra app Your OAuth app
Create an OAuth app of your own with Outlook Calendar, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Outlook Calendar and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.
What agents can do with Outlook Calendar
An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.
Runs on its own 6
Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.
-
List calendars Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List your calendars with id, name, owner, whether you can edit them and which online meeting providers (such as Teams) they allow. The other tools work on your default calendar.
-
Find events Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List events on your default calendar between two times, soonest first, with recurring meetings expanded into single occurrences. Returns each event's id, subject, start, end, location, organizer, attendees and their replies, your own reply, Teams link and a short text preview of the body.
-
Read an event Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Read one event with its full body, attendees and their replies, online meeting details and recurrence.
-
Check availability Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Return free/busy blocks for people, distribution lists or rooms in your organization between two times. Work or school accounts only.
-
Suggest meeting times Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Suggest times when you and the attendees are free, based on everyone's calendar and working hours, ranked by confidence. Work or school accounts only.
-
Add a private event Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Add an event without attendees to your default calendar, such as a focus block, a reminder or a hold. Nobody is invited. To invite people use create_meeting.
Asks first 3
Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.
-
Schedule a meeting Tier 3 · External Outside content
Create a meeting on your default calendar and send the invitation to every attendee immediately. Set online_meeting to add a Teams join link. Check availability with get_free_busy or find_meeting_times first.
-
Update an event Tier 3 · External Outside content
Change an event's subject, time, location or attendee list; send only the fields to change. Attendees are sent an update. attendees replaces the whole list, so read the event first and include everyone who should stay invited. The body is not changed, which keeps Teams join details intact.
-
Reply to an invitation Tier 3 · External Outside content
Accept, tentatively accept or decline a meeting you were invited to. The organizer gets your reply with the optional comment.
Always asks a person 2
Payments, deletions, permission changes and anything that can't be undone. A person approves every use, and no charter or approval rule can switch that off.
-
Cancel a meeting Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content
Cancel a meeting you organized and send attendees a cancellation with an optional message. Only the organizer can cancel; use respond_to_invite to decline someone else's meeting.
-
Delete an event Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content
Delete an event from your calendar. If you organized it and it has attendees, they are sent a cancellation.
Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.
What can start work
Set a trigger up on the Intake page, and your rules there turn what arrives into tasks for your agents.
-
An event in the connected mailbox was created, changed or deleted, including new meeting invitations (checked every 5 minutes).
Everdeck checks Outlook Calendar every 5 minutes.
Work an agent can take on
Examples for apps in Calendar & scheduling. What an agent does with Outlook Calendar depends on the actions you grant it.
- Find open times and suggest meeting slots to someone who asked for a call.
- Read tomorrow's meetings and write a short brief for each one.
Set it up
The Outlook Calendar setup guide walks through each way to connect: what to set up first and the fields to fill in, then how to start work from its triggers on the Intake page.
Outlook Calendar is a separate service with its own terms. Everdeck isn't affiliated with or endorsed by it.
