Ways to connect
A company admin connects Google Ads from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.
Every way in uses an app you create with Google Ads, so access stays under your control. The setup guide walks you through it.
Google Ads must approve your app or your API access before it can reach your live account. Allow time for that review.
-
Service account key Service account
Create a service account or key of your own with Google Ads and paste it into Everdeck. The connection then works without anyone signing in each time.
-
Your Google OAuth app Your OAuth app
Create an OAuth app of your own with Google Ads, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Google Ads and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.
What agents can do with Google Ads
An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.
Runs on its own 5
Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.
-
List reachable accounts Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List the Google Ads customer IDs these credentials can reach directly.
-
Run a report query (GAQL) Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Run a Google Ads Query Language query on the connected account. Use snake_case fields in the query (metrics.cost_micros); results come back in camelCase (metrics.costMicros). Money is in micros (1,000,000 = 1 unit of the account currency). Always add a LIMIT.
-
Campaign performance Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Impressions, clicks, CTR, average CPC, cost, conversions and conversion value per campaign for a date range, with each campaign's status, budget and budget resource name. Costs are in micros.
-
Search terms report Tier 0 · Read Outside content
The searches that triggered Search ads in a date range, with campaign, ad group, impressions, clicks, cost (micros) and conversions. Use it to find negative keywords.
-
Research keywords Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Keyword ideas from seed keywords with average monthly searches, competition and top-of-page bid range (micros). Needs Basic or Standard API access.
Asks first 3
Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.
-
Pause a campaign Tier 3 · External Outside content
Pause a campaign so its ads stop showing and spending.
-
Pause an ad group Tier 3 · External Outside content
Pause one ad group so its ads stop showing.
-
Add a negative keyword Tier 3 · External Outside content
Stop a campaign's ads from showing for searches that match a keyword.
Always asks a person 3
Payments, deletions, permission changes and anything that can't be undone. A person approves every use, and no charter or approval rule can switch that off.
-
Resume a campaign Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content
Enable a paused campaign so it starts serving and spending again.
-
Change a campaign budget Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content
Set the daily amount of a campaign budget, in micros of the account currency (50 per day = 50000000). Get budget_id from campaign.campaign_budget (customers/…/campaignBudgets/{budget_id}). A shared budget changes every campaign using it.
-
Resume an ad group Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content
Enable a paused ad group so it serves and spends again.
Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.
What can start work
Set a trigger up on the Intake page, and your rules there turn what arrives into tasks for your agents.
-
Once a day, the campaign results for the last 7 days, so an agent can review spend and pause waste.
Everdeck checks Google Ads every day.
Work an agent can take on
Examples for apps in Social & ads. What an agent does with Google Ads depends on the actions you grant it.
- Read new comments and messages and draft replies for you to approve.
- Report each week on how your posts and pages performed.
Set it up
The Google Ads setup guide walks through each way to connect: what to set up first and the fields to fill in, then how to start work from its triggers on the Intake page.
Google Ads is a separate service with its own terms. Everdeck isn't affiliated with or endorsed by it.
