Ways to connect

A company admin connects LinkedIn Pages from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.

Every way in uses an app you create with LinkedIn Pages, so access stays under your control. The setup guide walks you through it.

LinkedIn Pages must approve your app or your API access before it can reach your live account. Allow time for that review.

  • Access token from your LinkedIn app Token

Copy a key or token from LinkedIn Pages and paste it into Everdeck.

  • Your LinkedIn app Your OAuth app

Create an OAuth app of your own with LinkedIn Pages, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to LinkedIn Pages and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.

What agents can do with LinkedIn Pages

An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.

Runs on its own 6

Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.

  • Get company page details Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Get the connected company page's name, vanity name, description, website, industry and staff size.

  • List page posts Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the company page's posts with their URN, text, state and timestamps (milliseconds since epoch). Sponsored (dark) posts are included; they have feedDistribution NONE.

  • List comments Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List comments on a post, or replies to a comment when given a comment URN. Returns each comment's URN, author URN (urn:li:person:… or urn:li:organization:…), text and time.

  • Get post statistics Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Organic impressions, unique impressions, clicks, likes, comments, shares and engagement rate for the page: lifetime totals, per day or month between two dates (last 12 months only), or lifetime totals for specific posts.

  • Get follower count Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Total number of followers of the company page.

  • List page activity Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Recent comments, admin comments, mentions and reshares on the company page's posts (kept for 60 days), with the post and comment URNs to act on.

Asks first 4

Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.

  • Publish a page post Tier 3 · External Outside content

Publish a post on the company page now, as the page. Hashtags (#word) work. Set link_url and link_title to attach a link card. Returns the new post URN and its URL.

  • Edit a page post Tier 3 · External Outside content

Replace the text of a published page post.

  • Comment on a post Tier 3 · External Outside content

Add a top-level comment to a post, as the company page.

  • Reply to a comment Tier 3 · External Outside content

Reply to a comment on a post, as the company page.

Always asks a person 1

Payments, deletions, permission changes and anything that can't be undone. A person approves every use, and no charter or approval rule can switch that off.

  • Delete a page post Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content

Permanently delete a page post. Deleting a post that is already gone succeeds.

Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.

What can start work

Nothing in LinkedIn Pages starts agent work by itself. Agents use it while they work on tasks from the board, from other agents or from the sources on the Intake page.

Work an agent can take on

Examples for apps in Social & ads. What an agent does with LinkedIn Pages depends on the actions you grant it.

  • Read new comments and messages and draft replies for you to approve.
  • Report each week on how your posts and pages performed.
