Todoist
Keep to-do lists in Todoist. Agents find tasks with Todoist filters, read them, add and update tasks with natural-language due dates, complete or reopen them, move them and comment.

Ways to connect
A company admin connects Todoist from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.
-
API token API key
Copy a key or token from Todoist and paste it into Everdeck.
-
Your Todoist app Your OAuth app
Create an OAuth app of your own with Todoist, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Todoist and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.
What agents can do with Todoist
An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.
Runs on its own 12
Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.
-
Find tasks Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Find open tasks with a Todoist filter query, for example "today | overdue", "#Work & p1", "assigned to: me", "due before: next week" or "search: invoice".
-
List tasks Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List open tasks, optionally only those in a project, section or with a label.
-
Read a task Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Read one open task with its description, due date, deadline, labels and assignee.
-
List projects Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List active projects with their ids.
-
List sections Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List the sections of a project (or of all projects).
-
Read comments Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Read the comments on a task.
-
Add a task Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Add a task, by default to the Inbox. due_string understands natural language such as "tomorrow 9am" or "every Monday".
-
Update a task Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Change a task's name, description, labels, priority, due date, deadline or assignee. Send only what changes; null clears assignee, deadline or duration. To move it use move_task.
-
Complete a task Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Mark a task done. A recurring task moves to its next date instead of closing. Undo with reopen_task.
-
Reopen a task Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Reopen a completed task; completed parent tasks and sections are restored too.
-
Move a task Tier 2 · Reversible
Move a task to another project, section or parent task. Give exactly one destination.
-
Comment on a task Tier 2 · Reversible
Add a comment to a task. Collaborators on a shared project can see it.
Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.
What can start work
Nothing in Todoist starts agent work by itself. Agents use it while they work on tasks from the board, from other agents or from the sources on the Intake page.
Work an agent can take on
Examples for apps in Projects & tasks. What an agent does with Todoist depends on the actions you grant it.
- Turn a request that arrived by email or chat into a task with the right project and due date.
- Comment on the work items it handles and move them along your workflow.
- List overdue work every morning for the person who owns it.
Set it up
The Todoist setup guide walks through each way to connect: what to set up first and the fields to fill in.
