Ways to connect
A company admin connects Zoho CRM from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.
Every way in uses an app you create with Zoho CRM, so access stays under your control. The setup guide walks you through it.

Your Zoho API Console client Your OAuth app
Create an OAuth app of your own with Zoho CRM, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Zoho CRM and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.
What agents can do with Zoho CRM
An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.
Runs on its own 10
Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.

Search records Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Search one module by email, phone, a word, or criteria such as ((Lead_Status:equals:Contacted)and(Owner:equals:4150868000000225013)). Give one of criteria, email, phone or word. Returns up to 200 records per page and 2,000 in total; records changed in the last moments may not be indexed yet (use query_records then).
-
Query records (COQL) Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Run a COQL SELECT, for example select Deal_Name, Stage, Amount, Closing_Date, Account_Name.Account_Name from Deals where Stage != 'Closed Won' and Closing_Date <= '2026-12-31' order by Closing_Date limit 50. Always name the fields and add a limit (max 2,000; offset with limit offset, count). Up to 25 conditions; lookup fields can be followed with a dot.
-
Read a record Tier 0 · Read Outside content
Read one record by module and id with all its fields (rich text fields are cut at 500 characters).
-
Create a record Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Create a record in a module using field API names. Mandatory fields: Leads and Contacts Last_Name; Accounts Account_Name; Deals Deal_Name and Stage (and Pipeline when pipelines are on); Tasks Subject. Lookups take {"id": "..."}. Duplicate checks on unique fields apply, and workflow rules run as for a record created in the UI.
-
Update a record Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Change fields on a record; send only the fields to change, for example move a deal with {"Stage": "Negotiation/Review"} or reassign with {"Owner": {"id": "..."}}.
-
Add a note Tier 2 · Reversible
Attach a note to a lead, contact, account, deal or other record. Notes are internal to CRM users.
-
Create a task Tier 2 · Reversible
Create a follow-up task. Link it to an account, deal or other record with What_Id plus $se_module, and to a contact or lead with Who_Id. Owner defaults to the connected user.
-
Convert a lead Tier 2 · Reversible Outside content
Convert a qualified lead into a contact and account (matched to existing ones by email and company), optionally creating a deal. Cannot be undone from the API.
-
List users Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List CRM users with ids, emails, roles and status, for assigning owners.
-
List a module's fields Tier 0 · Read Outside content
List a module's fields: API name, label, data type, whether read-only, and lookup target. Use the api_name values in every create, update, search and query.
Asks first 1
Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.
-
Email a lead or contact Tier 3 · External Outside content
Send an email from the connected user's address to a record's email (lead, contact, account, deal or case). It is logged on the record. Costs 20 API credits.
Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.
What can start work

Work an agent can take on
Examples for apps in CRM & sales. What an agent does with Zoho CRM depends on the actions you grant it.
- Log notes and next steps on a deal or contact after a call.
- Create or update contacts from new enquiries.
- List deals with no activity this week for your sales lead.
Set it up
The Zoho CRM setup guide walks through each way to connect: what to set up first and the fields to fill in, then how to start work from its triggers on the Intake page.
Zoho CRM is a separate service with its own terms. Everdeck isn't affiliated with or endorsed by it.
