Companies, members and roles
How an account holds your companies and your team, what each role can do, and how to invite, change and remove people.
Everdeck has two levels. Your account holds the plan, the bill and your team. Inside it, each company is one business you run: its own agents, hours, brand voice, connected apps and knowledge. A consultancy might have one company; an agency or a group of brands might have several.
Companies
Account owners and admins manage companies on the Companies page.
- New company adds one. Enter its Company name and Timezone, then select Create company. Your plan sets how many companies can be active at once.
- Open switches to the company. You can also switch with the company menu at the top of the sidebar.
- Settings opens Company settings, where company admins fill in the company's Profile (website, mission and what it does), Brand voice, Timezone and hours and Public holidays. Agents read all of it when they work.
- Archive makes a company read-only: nobody can change its settings, people or work until it's unarchived. It stops counting toward your plan, and nothing in it is deleted. Unarchive brings it back, if your plan has room.
An archived company's agents don't work. An agent left active there still counts against your plan's active agents until someone pauses it.
Account roles
Everyone in the account has one account role:
- Owner: owns the account. Manages the plan, the people and every company. There is one owner, and only the owner can hand ownership to someone else.
- Admin: manages people and companies, and opens every company.
- Billing: manages the plan, payment details and invoices. Billing members don't open companies.
- Member: works in the companies they're given a role in, and nowhere else.

Company roles
A member gets a role in each company they work in. Owners and admins don't need one: they can do everything in every company.
- Viewer: sees the work.
- Operator: also creates, assigns and moves tasks.
- Manager: also pauses agents, decides approvals and manages the knowledge base.
- Company admin: runs the company: its agents, connected apps, approval rules and settings.

Who may decide a particular approval also depends on the company's approval rules: a rule can name a role, a person or an agent for each step. See Approvals and approval rules.
Invite people
On the Members page, owners and admins select Invite people.
- Enter their Email address and choose their Account role.
- For a member, choose a role in each company under Company access, or leave No access.
- Select Send invitation.
They get an email with a link that works once and lasts 7 days. They create a login (with two-factor authentication, like everyone) and join your account. Pending invitations count toward your plan's seats. Under Pending invitations you can Resend an invitation (the old link stops working) or Revoke it.
Only the owner can give someone billing access. Inviting an admin or a billing member asks you to confirm it's you with your second factor.
Change someone's access
Select Edit access next to the person, change their Account role or their company roles, and select Save access. Making someone an admin or a billing member asks you to confirm it's you first.
To hand the account to someone else, the owner selects Make owner next to them. They become the owner, and you become an admin.
Remove someone
Select Remove next to them. They lose access to the account and every company in it at once, and we email them to let them know. Removing someone asks you to confirm it's you. To leave an account yourself, select Leave next to your own name.
The account's kill switch
The Account page has a kill switch for owners and admins: Pause every agent stops every agent in every company at once, including sessions in progress, and Resume all brings back exactly the agents paused together. Both ask you to confirm it's you. Each company also has its own Pause all on its Agents page, for managers and company admins.
