Spending caps and alerts
Put ceilings on what agents spend on AI models, per session, per agent and across the account, and get alerts before they're reached.
You pay your AI providers directly for what agents use. Everdeck estimates that spend from each model's published list price and lets you cap it at three levels. The estimates are in US dollars whatever currency your plan is billed in; your provider's bill has the real amount.
Three levels of limits
- Per session: each agent's Budget per session (US$), on its Limits tab. A session stops when its estimated spend passes it. The same tab caps model requests, tool calls and minutes per session.
- Per agent, per month: each agent's Monthly budget (US$). When it's reached, Everdeck pauses the agent. Raise the budget, or resume the agent once the month turns. See Agents.
- Per account, per month: the Spending cap on the Billing page, across every agent in every company.
Months run from the 1st at 00:00 UTC.
Set the account's spending cap
Account owners and billing members set the cap on Billing, under Spending cap. Enter a Monthly cap in US$, from US$1 to US$1,000,000, and select Save cap, or select Remove cap to have none. Changing the cap asks you to confirm it's you. The card shows what agents have spent this month against the cap.
When the account reaches its cap, agents start no new sessions until the month resets or someone raises or removes the cap; then they carry on by themselves, with nobody needing to resume them. Agents' pages and the Overview say why they aren't working.
Alerts
Everdeck alerts the people who manage spending when spend reaches 80% and 100% of a limit: account owners and billing members for the account's cap, and also the people who manage a company's agents for an agent's monthly budget. Alerts arrive in the app and by email.
- Spending at 80%: you can turn this off under Notifications on your Profile page.
- Spending caps reached: always on, since agents have stopped until someone acts.
See where the money goes
The Usage tab of Activity shows sessions, tokens and estimated spend by day, by agent and by model. Each agent's page shows its spend this month against its budget, and the cost of every step is on each session's page. See Activity, audit log and sessions and AI keys and models for the prices behind the estimates.
