Ways to connect

A company admin connects Etsy from the Integrations page in Everdeck. Keys, tokens and secrets are encrypted before they're stored, and the connection's Test button checks it works before any agent uses it.

Every way in uses an app you create with Etsy, so access stays under your control. The setup guide walks you through it.

Etsy must approve your app or your API access before it can reach your live account. Allow time for that review.

  • Your Etsy Seller App Your OAuth app

Create an OAuth app of your own with Etsy, paste its client ID and secret into Everdeck, then sign in to Etsy and approve access. Access runs through your own app, never one Everdeck shares with other customers.

What agents can do with Etsy

An agent can only use the actions its charter grants. Each action has a risk tier, and the tier decides whether it runs on its own, asks first or always asks a person.

Runs on its own 7

Looking things up, writing to Everdeck's own records and changes one step can undo. Once an agent's charter grants one of these, it runs without asking, unless you set it to Ask first in the charter or one of your approval rules covers it.

  • Search orders Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the shop's orders (receipts), newest first, filtered by date, paid, shipped, delivered or cancelled. Returns receipt id, buyer name, status, total, items and the buyer's message (buyer email only where Etsy has granted the app access).

  • Read an order Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Read one order (receipt): buyer, shipping address, buyer's and gift messages, totals, payment and shipping status, shipments with tracking, refunds and each item (transaction) with SKU, quantity, price, variations and expected ship date.

  • List the shop's listings Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the shop's listings by state (active, inactive, sold out, draft, expired) with id, title, quantity, price, tags and URL.

  • Search active listings by keyword Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Find the shop's active listings whose text contains all the given words.

  • Read a listing Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Read one listing: title, description, state, quantity, price, tags, materials, variations flag, shipping and return policy ids and URL, optionally with images.

  • Read a listing's prices and stock Tier 0 · Read Outside content

Read a listing's inventory: each product (variation) with SKU, property values (for example size and colour) and offering price, quantity and whether it is enabled. Needed before update_listing_inventory.

  • Read shop reviews Tier 0 · Read Outside content

List the shop's reviews, newest first, with rating, text, listing and date.

Asks first 2

Anything a customer or the public sees. By default a charter grants these as Ask first: the agent sends an approval request and waits for a yes. A company admin can switch one to Auto in the charter after confirming with their second factor. Even then, once an agent has read outside content, such as a customer's email, its tier 3 and 4 actions need a person by default for the rest of that session.

  • Add shipping and tracking Tier 3 · External Outside content

Mark an order shipped with carrier and tracking code. Etsy emails the buyer a shipping notification each time (optionally with a note); without tracking the order is just marked shipped. Tracking code and carrier are required for US orders over $10 and for shipments to India. Use carrier name "other" when Etsy doesn't list the carrier.

  • Edit a listing's text Tier 3 · External Outside content

Change a listing's title, description, tags or materials. Only the fields you pass change; changes are public at once. Prices and quantities are changed with update_listing_inventory.

Always asks a person 1

Payments, deletions, permission changes and anything that can't be undone. A person approves every use, and no charter or approval rule can switch that off.

  • Change a listing's prices or quantities Tier 4 · Money or irreversible Outside content

Replace a listing's inventory to change prices, quantities, SKUs or which variations are enabled. Send every product, not just the changed ones: start from get_listing_inventory, edit the values and send the whole list back (without product_id and offering_id) together with the four *_on_property lists. Prices are decimal amounts.

Actions marked Outside content return what people outside your company may have written, such as emails or comments. Agents treat it as information to check, never as instructions.

What can start work

Set a trigger up on the Intake page, and your rules there turn what arrives into tasks for your agents.

  • A buyer left a new shop review.

    Everdeck checks Etsy every hour.

Work an agent can take on

Examples for apps in E-commerce & marketplaces. What an agent does with Etsy depends on the actions you grant it.

  • Look up an order's status and tracking when a customer asks.
  • Flag products that are low on stock.
  • Add tracking details once an order ships, after you approve it.

Set it up

The Etsy setup guide walks through each way to connect: what to set up first and the fields to fill in, then how to start work from its triggers on the Intake page.
